The View From the Top of Emerald Hills

Comings and goings with Judy and Bob.

Remembering Dad

Bob's Dad passed away in February, 1997, too soon, but much loved. His children, niece and nephews and many friends gathered with Muriel in Canyon City to say goodbye. It was remarkable to see cousins, unconnected for so many years, back together again. Let's not wait so long again.

STS 95

Bright blue skies, an expectant throng, an amazing view, a thuderous roar.

Gallerie Hare

The opening of Gallerie Hare in February, 1997 was a hugh success. Nearly 100 friends and photographic enthusiasts enjoyed wine and dinner as they purused two halls with over 30 photographs. The Gallerie was Judy's present to Bob and the result of viewing nearly 5000 slides covering 35 years of picture taking. The end result was arranged by Judy, displayed under new lighting, and introduced by a beautiful entrance plaque and a newly framed copy of Bob's high school yearbook photo.

Paia to Pu'u 'Ula'ula

10,023 feet up, August 12, 1996:

Pu'u 'ula'ula means Red Hill but Bob's cheeks were barely red when he crested the top of Mt. Haleakala....
